New Releases: Thrice, Robert Pollard, Cobra Starship
I might be a little bit in love with Mindy Smith so hopefully that doesn’t disappoint.
I put Passion Pit‘s vinyl release in there just cause Sean loves them so much.
And someone please tell me why I should even try with the new Thrice release. They haven’t been interesting to me since Artist in the Ambulance. Why do people still love them?

you should try the new thrice because the only good music they’ve put out is the stuff post-artist in the ambulance.

I generally acknowledge Artist as the only album Thrice ever put out.

Busting out my moshbro jersery for Winds of Plague today. Behemoth’s new album is going to crush and I’m willing to listen to Swashbuckle.

@j: I’ll translate how I just read what you said:
“You should try the new Thrice because it matches the qualifications for all the Thrice albums you don’t like.”

Thrice’s most recent releases have been the best

thrice’s older releases = punk/metal hybrid with decent melodic moments and occasionally flashy leads
thrice’s newer releases = a thricey spin on post-rock/metal
so i suppose it’s a matter of preference. i think “the earth will shake” is the best song they’ve written.

I heard some of their new stuff on Myspace and it seems pretty decent. I agree though that nothing tops Artist in the Ambulance.

vheissu did have some really stellar songs, but that’s the album where i could tell they were starting to lose me.. i haven’t paid attention since they started getting uber-conceptual.
behemoth’s new one slays. swashbuckle would be a blast live.
