Robert Pollard – The Crawling Distance

If you like Robert Pollard, Boston Spaceships, Guided By Voices, blah blah blah, then you’ll enjoy this album — same as always. Also same as always with Pollard’s solo output, there’s some wheat and some chaff here. But the wheat is like super wheat that you could make super bread with. Think of the peanut butter and honey (jelly is for chumps) sandwich that would make.
And since ole Bob writes something like 671 songs a year, you know this isn’t his only release of the year. There’s at least the new Boston Spaceships album in March.

I like your reviews. Short and sweet and to the point. I totally know what you mean and I can totally agree.
I think the songs are good for the most part but I feel it’s a tad over-produced in my opinion. It might be because I am so used to hearing tracks like “It’s Easy” and “On Shortwave” in their demo forms.
