New Sunny Day Real Estate Album Coming
Regular Buzzgrinderer Travis Lee dropped us a tasty tidbit. He just saw Sunny Day Real Estate in Minneapolis, and during the new song they’ve been playing on their reunion tour, they said something along the lines of “it’s going to be a fun one to record.” Trav also said the new jam was “a beast.”
So yeah, new Sunny Day record. You heard it here first. Maybe.
Either way, here’s the audio from their Denver performance of the song. Not the best quality, but you can get the gist of it.

mixed bag, primarily LP2 and Diary, with some How It Feels to be Something On thrown in there. a few rare-er tracks from 7″ sprinkled in. spot on performance, i was actually blown away. and the new song – wow!

Chicago was great too. No rising tide was a let down but their set was great. The mix was way to drum heavy but it was still awesome.

Well, Nate didn’t play on Rising Tide, so it would only make sense that they play the songs that the 4 members wrote. He at least helped write some songs for How It Feels…I’m pretty sure.

That’s a bummer they’re not playing anything from rising tide – I jumped on the sdre fanwagon later on in their (non?)existence and probably enjoy that album the most. Still, I imagine it will be rad show.

new song did kick ass! performance was fantastic. also at the very end of nyc show, dan (guitarist) said “we’ll be back.” i’m pretty sure i heard that…and by the sound of the new song, i wouldn’t be surprised.

recording ONE new song does not equal new album

you’re right – one song isn’t one album. but going on tour again, saying “we’ll be back” .. well, you tell me the importance of doing another “reunion” tour shortly after your most well-known album’s 10 year anni tour..

also, other folks talking to the band and being told there is a good chance of a new album by the band means there’s a good chance a new album is on the way.
