What’s the most stroke-inducing, unbelievable revelation of 2009? Ted Nugent isn’t a fan of President Barack Obama! Here’s what the Nuge had to say when asked about the big O:

I think that Barack Hussein Obama should be put in jail. It is clear that Barack Hussein Obama is a communist. Mao Tse Tung lives and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. This country should be ashamed. I wanna throw up.

I see this self-imposed suicidal curse of political correctness when I hear an entire segment of this country chanting for Barack Hussein Obama that won’t do anything for our country. But they will scream and whine what the country must do for them. It breaks my heart.

Hey Ted, does your puke taste better when you killed it yourself? Just curious.

Also, can we start the “If Ted Nugent were President…” deal again?

i agree with serge that the statement sounds wrong. however, i think it’s mostly because it’s uninformed on a lot of levels — not that it’s completely without merit. and when ted nugent says stuff about this subject, it’s almost always just to inflame people. there’s never nuance or care in it. and thus, people who listen to him and agree don’t care about being thoughtful when it comes to this subject.

as a meat eater and someone who grew up around (but never actually did) a lot of hunting, i can see the point. there are many positives about hunting animals for food (health, sociological and ecological reasons).

animals that have been naturally raised on organic food are simply better for you than genetically-engineered supercows and megachickens. and most of the food you hunt for (like deer, rabbit or fowl) is leaner than beef or pork, which are usually the meats of choice at the supermarket. and that’s a plus.

additionally, hunting for your food can (and should, but doesn’t always, since some people are assfaces) make you more reverent when it comes to the environment. and the same goes for growing your vegetables and fruit. when you get all of your food from the store, it’s easy to forget that we as people are connected to nature and our surroundings in an intrinsic way.

and from a practical standpoint, hunting animals is needed sometimes to control animal populations. as someone who has hit a deer with my car in a situation where i could’ve easily died (and whose wife, in-laws and friends have hit deer, putting them in danger), i see the need to have a deer hunting season. granted, that raises other questions about suburban sprawl (even though the examples i mentioned were in a rural area with lots of wilderness and farmland) and bad stewardship of undeveloped land, but that’s not the point here.

yeah, not so much. as someone who is completely divested in the political process, i can say pretty confidently that both are equally rude and arrogant. you might agree with one side or the other more, but they’re both equal in their civility when it comes to public discourse.

the issue isn’t that republicans are assholes, so they want to be divisive. the issue is that two different parties have drastically different views of what defines america — and both sides think that anyone who disagrees with them has to be stupid.
