These Arms Are Snakes Talk More Crap About Christian Bands
These Arms Are Snakes recently did a video interview for Dirty Laundry, a site whose gimmick is, clearly, performing video interviews in a laundromat. Highly original.
Anyway, they take the time to point out the frustrations and hypocrisy experienced when touring on the road with an unnamed Christian band (I only know of one band that they’ve complained about before, cough cough) who had prayer circles and criticized TAAS’s swearing and drinking while making a few not-so-classy exceptions for their own benefit.
They also talk about how much they hate their old label Jade Tree — and how many people have had sex in their tour van. It’s fun times all around.

it’s funny that even after all these years, christians just can’t seem to “get it”; building relationships with these people is a far better plan than to be isolated and mocked for beliefs

I’m calling hesitant BS on this – just because if you’re a Christian band playing with so many non-Christian bands, it’s not likely that you’re going to whine about their lifestyle. You’re not going to last long in the mixed industry playing with heathens if you get so worked up about it.

I agree with Jay. Sounds a bit fishy. I understand differing worldviews and not seeing eye-to-eye on some political/moral issues, but I have a hard time believing that a Christian band that would tour with them would mock them for cursing or drinking some beer.

Seriously, if anyone knows what band leave a comment about it. I bet it wasn’t Underoath.

Go look at their tour history. If it’s not Underoath, I have no idea who it would be.

It was possibly The Chariot. They were on that tour, and often times have shared the same complaints that bands have had about Underoath; though not recently, but the 2005 lineup of The Chariot had a reputation that they have seemed to shake with member changes and age.
But all is speculation. All is rumors. All is rock and roll in a way.

I love These Arms Are Snakes.
It should be noted that in the one interview linked here bassist Brian Cook states…”I will say this about Underoath: they are
some of the nicest, most generous, and down to earth people I’ve ever met.”So, there you go.

Why is it that anytime there’s christian band [hate] drama…it always leads back to Underoath. They’re all honestly, quite kind hearted. I don’t listen to TAAS, but the guy sounds like a really close-minded A-hole who has no respect other’s beliefs. Anyway, you shouldn’t judge someone based on their religion, that’s not cool. Not cool.

Thanks for the quote Bill. It was more likely The Chariot. I didn’t believe it was Underoath because it seemed out of character for them. Didn’t seem like something they would make a issue out of. They are used to touring with secular bands- They’re nice with Slipknot for crying out loud! Clearly they aren’t sensitive about the behavior of bands or they are screwed because they almost only tour with them. They all drink (besides Chris) so why would they complain about drinking? I know my stuff.
