Weezer – (If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To (Live on Conan O’Brien)

You can tell Conana isn’t into this when he’s introducing Weezer. Then you can tell I’m not into it by me puking everywhere while they’re playing. I never thought a day would come when I’d be begging for another green album…

I thought the video was slightly charming in an old-school Weezer sort of way.

    Song sucks balls, though.

what’s become more obvious to me now than ever, is that rivers is completely battling being sucked into the indie crowd that embraced them after the first two records – it would be too predictable for him to be embraced by indie and emo kids and continue on that musical path by writing pinkerton over and over. instead, he embraces name brands and silly pop culture shit, and writes crappy pop songs about them. and releases records called “raditude” with a jumping dog on the cover. he’s continuing down the path of the anti-cool by not allowing the “cool kids” to like him, forever keeping himself adrift in the sea of the “real-life” loser. i can kind of respect that.

no, i just think rivers bought into the hype that he was super awesome around the time of the green album. and now he just like having lots of money.

Is this a play on his name? If so, well done.

Further proof for me that after the Blue Album it was was downhill for Weezer. Yes, there were a few notable tracks in between now and then, but this further solidifies they’re status in Sucktown, USA.
