Chris Staples’ Car Gets Stolen
We’re longtime Chris Staples supporters here — whether it was Takehold Records-era twothirtyeight, his solo work or the Discover America stuff — so news that his car was recently stolen while on tour in Atlanta is upsetting. Especially since this isn’t the first time Staples has been in a similar situation. A few years back, Staples, Winston Jazz Routine and State Bird were held up at gunpoint.
It’s one thing to get robbed once as a musician. It’s something else if it happens twice — and it’s not because you parked your van overnight in Detroit! So if you feel inclined to help a friend in need, he’s offering an appropos cover of Bruce Springsteen’s Stolen Car by himself and Gasoline Heart’s Louis DeFabrizio for anyone who gives a little scratch.
Also, we’re not sure what this does to the status of his remaining dates. And I’m particularly curious, since I saw a house show scheduled for tomorrow in Louisville (but no details, so if anyone has those, pass them on as well).

The show tonight in Louisville is still, as well as all the Ohio dates.
The Indiana and Illinois dates are currently pending.

Man. I love both of these dudes to begin with. It’s even more awesome that they are doing a song by The Boss. Fantastic!
