This album is absolutely stunning. They’ve definitely matured. that’s not to say that their first effort wasn’t amazing, because it certainly was. “Take Me To The Sea” was incredibly refreshing, but “Hologram Jams” shows an unfaltering confidence, and a level of sophistication that will surely launch them to the forefront of their genre. That is, if they can truly be categorized in any single genre.
In any case, excellent work Jag Love. way to keep it rad.

This Cd Is Really Disappointing. Sorry But I Think Johnny Is Trying Way To Hard. Losing What Made Him Amazing In The First Place.

OMG, ‘cherry soda’ is the best song johnny whitney has ever written!! The Janis Joplin cover is fcking sickkkkk. I miss the intensity of ‘take me 2 the sea’ but ‘hologram jams’ is more polished! Luv it

All of Johnny’s bands are rad except this one. Cody is not showing his guitar skill. I know they wanted to do something different and thats fine, but don’t do something worse. They have better in them, I won’t give up though. Not bad but not good. BB’s R.I.P.

I’ve never seen an album divide people so much. I find, though, that like a lot of what Johnny Whitney does, this album is of an acquired taste. If you put forth the effort to get used to how different it is from the rest of his stuff, it is really enjoyable. And, even if at first it doesn’t seem like it, all of his wonderful hallmarks are there- especially in the lyrical content.
On my first listen, I was disappointed; on my second listen I liked it, on my subsequent listens it has become one of my favorite albums in recent history.
Also, when you take into consideration that a few of the tracks on this album were actually written as far back as when Johnny and Cody were in the Blood Brothers still, it always feels a little hypocritical when people say that this album is so crappy compared to what they were doing at that time. Would people have still called these tracks bad if they were Blood Brothers songs by name alone? I honestly don’t think so.
Just give it a chance and if you still don’t like it then that’s fine, but never wall yourself off to something from a first impression just because it’s not what you’re used to.

What were they thinking!?!?!? If he wanted to make shitty dance music, he should’ve released another Neon Blonde P.O.S. album, not ruin a decent band.

Not a bad album, not a bad album at all. I loved Take Me to the Seas, and all of the Blood Brothers’ work, didn’t quite care for Neon Blonde though. This album seems to merge Neon Blonde and Jaguar Love (’cause Jaguar Love and the Blood Brothers both have their distinct sounds), and make something good.

A little too dancy for my taste (I like the first album a whole lot more), but not too bad overall.
