Morning Buzz: Robert Pollard, Refused, Oasis

:: Robert Pollard isn’t just a lo-fi rock and roll all star. He’s also a high school sports all star. Literally.

:: It seems like deluxe editions of reissues are all the rage now. The latest record to get the treatment is Refused‘s The Shape of Punk to Come.

:: Glad to see that the prison system is getting the most out of Lil Wayne. They’ve put him to work — doing suicide watch. What is that saying about the blind leading the blind? Oh yeah, it’s like the blind leading the blind.

:: Looks like under-inflated tires were the cause of the plane crash that severely injured Blink-182‘s Travis Barker.

:: Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs apparently quit Oasis because the band’s lifestyle was too rich for his blood.

:: MTV had their own March Madness, involving bands. The last four standing were Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Muse and Tokio Hotel. Um, at least you know MTV hasn’t changed their stance on the quality of music they accept…

my high school art teacher got gout, because he was a bodybuilder (yes, an art teacher who was a bodybuilder; he was also a mason, republican, church pianist and motorcyle enthusiast…so much for stereotypes) and he did the atkins diet. he ate so little carbs that he ended up with a really bad case of gout.
