New Releases: Mastodon, Baroness, The Acacia Strain

An oddball week. No major highlights of note, but there might be a few for you collectors.

The Acacia Strain have a new live DVD; both Baroness and Mastodon are releasing some 12-inch vinyl; Mumford & Sons has a new one; fans of Black Moth Super Rainbow should check out the debut solo LP from the group’s pianist The Seven Fields of Aphelion; Story of the Year is holding strong in the screamo department (or maybe not?); an unexpected full-length from Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra; and Will Hoge is following up his pretty great 2009 LP with a live album recorded in Nashville.

Rock on, party people.

A year or two ago, I’d be excited about Jedi Mind Tricks. Now, not so much. The new Close Your Eyes album is really good, though.
