Slang Chickens might have my find of SXSW. I know, I know — they played our party, so it’s not like I was oblivious. But I definitely didn’t know what to expect, and you can’t really know an act until you’ve seen them live. They delivered a tight set and energetic performances that had just enough — but thankfully not too much — L.A. cool intrinsically built in.

Plus every member of the band looked like they just stepped out of Swingers, which gets two thumbs up from me any day.
