Weezer Planning Blue Album and Pinkerton Tour

Just a few days ago, Weezer guitarist Brian Bell was discussing his desire to have a tour that would see the band play Pinkerton top to bottom. At that point, it seemed relatively uncertain, but heartening. But now things are looking up even more. Not only did frontman Rivers Cuomo cop to wanting a Pinkteron tour himself, he took it a step further when talking to MTV:

We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We’re just running it by promoters right now to see if there’s sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they’re on board, it’s gonna happen.

So while it’s not a done deal, it certainly looks like we’ll be getting a string of two-night engagements where you’ll get to enjoy two of the best records from the ’90s live.

Now if we could only get Mr. T to plan a tour where he plays his albums — Mr. T’s Commandments and Be Somebody… or Be Somebody’s Fool! — we’d be able to hear two of the best albums from the ’80s live, too.

I was lucky enough to see Weezer in 2000 and their whole show, save for a handful of songs, were Blue and Pinkerton.

But I would blow a homeless guy if I meant guarantee entry to these shows.
