David Crowder Band – Give Us Rest

The thing I would suggest Crowder do to ramp up his marketability to normal people is not to go for the obvious Biblical reference in album titles. The sparrow is nice and rich with Christian allegory, so that area is covered. But he should angle the album toward the stoner crowd by naming it something nonsensical, like Porkins’ Stovepipe. He already looks like he should be doing something weird anyway. Might as well make it official.

   If “normal people” are interested in his music, they should take a look into his discography and see what he’s all about. I was a “normal person” who had no clue what this supposed Christian band was doing and once I discovered it, I was floored. David needn’t change who he is for the stoner crowd. If the stoner crowd listened to his message and the way he delivers (which is AWESOME, btw), they would be the ones forever changed.

Yes, many of us once were. They started the band on a college campus. Do the math. I don’t know whether to laugh at you or pray for you so I’ll do both.
