When I heard about your concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl, I was very excited. Despite being my favorite band for many years, I’ve never had the opportunity to see you live. It also looked like a good way to have one final outing with my sister before she moves to Thailand.
I heard the best tickets would go on sale early this morning on your online store. Knowing I’d be out of town on Saturday when the crappy tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster, I made plans to stay up all night. Pirate Bay is making an attempt to purchase the off-shore, man-made installation of Sealand. Sealand claims to be both sovereign and legitimate which would allow the site to be based there without being subject to international copwrite laws. Starting tomorrow the site and the “sovereign” micronation will begin negotiations for the purchase.
In case you didn’t know there’s an update available for iTunes. A new slick album cover interface, downloadable movies, and a lot more. Apple also released colored iPod nano’s and a tiny Shuffle that starts at $79.

With over three million bands ranging from Death Cab For Cutie to some guy jamming beats in his bedroom, artists will soon be able to make their songs available for purchase on MySpace.
Best Buy and Blender Magazine are running a contest with the winner receiving a customiozed Intel Centrino Duo powered laptop loaded with Blender’s 500 greatest songs of all time.
To respond to the many “incidents” involving adult and teen Myspace users, the site has posted new rules for adults using the site. According to the associated press the site “will bar MySpace users who are 18 or over from requesting to be on a 14- or 15-year-old’s friends’ list unless they already know either the youth’s e-mail address or full name.”
Pirate Bay, possibly the biggest remaining torrent site on the net, was shut down last Wednesday. Over the weekend protesters of the shut down took to the streets of Stockholm to demonstrate their feelings on the matter. London’s Financial times also reported that angered pirates protested by “deliberately overloaded the websites of the government and the police, forcing them to shut down temporarily.” As of Monday the site was back up running on serves in undisclosed locations.
