CRUCIAL SCENE STATS
Got in touch with Seth through the interwebs a year and a half ago, paid my dues at the Ky. site (RIP), and we started Papercut (RIP, too) after some discussion. I make pictures for people (and myself). Also, if you book shows, let me know. I’m working on a super-secret project.

CRUCIAL NON-SCENE STATS
I live in a town that is equidistant between Cincinnati and Lexington, but my heart belongs to Louisville. I’m married to a lovely lady. I work at a smallish local newspaper doing layout and design of the very un-scene variety. I like big, boring books. Eventually, I’ll have a PhD in philosophy (I hope). Then I’ll be Dr. Cannon. What a phenomenal supervillain name. Be my friend (in an online kind of way).

TOP 3 ALBUMS
3. At the Drive-In-In Casino Out
“In a small ghost town, there’s a little arcade/Where the poltergeists play their video games/At the top of the roof he says/Game over they said, game over they said/Run and get your quarters in.” Need I say more?

2. Old Crow Medicine Show-O.C.M.S.
Their latest album is just about as good, but this is everything that makes bluegrass enjoyable. It’s as if they had just come down from the mountains (after spending a little time with Bob Dylan). While not technically bluegrass by purists’ standards, I’ll take it any day over newgrass garbage like Nickel Creek.

1. Anathallo-Floating World
This album mesmerizes me. There are great pop hooks here, and they don’t get lost in the lovely instrumentation. Some people like this because it’s “experimental” or “atmospheric” (which I enjoy, too), but I can’t lie, I love a good rump-shaking pop song. And this album supplies those left and right, while still being artistically provocative.

Cross section of other musical interests:
Sufjan Stevens-Illinoise
Bleach-Farewell Old Friends
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists-Shake the Sheets
Q and Not U-No Kill No Beep Beep
Promise Ring-Wood/Water
Son Volt-Trace
